The three main aspects of life must be equal in importance. One is connected to the other and all three must work as a team to create optimum health. The philosophy of Holistic Health has been a work in progress for centuries. Hippocrates, a historical Greek physician, studied the relationship between illness, the environment, and emotions. In 16th century Britain, holistically oriented treatments were used, including herbal preparations, astrology, and incantations. Early 19th century United States holistic practices included botanical medicines and Native American medicine/treatments. This course is a wonderful introduction and overview of many holistic health concepts, and covers the history as well as introduces the student to many holistic modalities such as Reflexology, Healing with Crystals and Gemstones, Energy/Lightwork, and Ayurveda just to name a few.
